Kelowna Junk Removal – 4 Easy Tips to Get You Living Junk Free Fast!

When it comes to trash removal and junk disposal it’s not as easy as it sounds.  After all, trash removal is about much more than just dumping your old stuff into a bin. Sometimes it is very difficult to get rid of those old items, no matter how long they have been junking up your home! The best thing you can possibly do for yourself is to get organized.  De-cluttering and living in without junk just seems to take a weight off your shoulders, so you can enjoy your home, not dread it!

Here are some tips on how to successfully “clean house” — when trash removal time comes around.

1.  Remind yourself. There is a good reason for throwing those old things away. Trash removal does require you to part with a lot of old stuff, but it is much easier to organize your home when there’s not as much stuff in it.  Ask yourself, do I really need this?  If so, why?  If you can’t come up with at least a couple good reasons, it might be time to go…

2.  Plan for a weekend and get rid of it all.  Trash removal is best done in one fell swoop.  Just rent a bin and dump it all.  You will be amazed at how good it feels to get rid of those things that have been taking up space in the attic, garage or basement.  Once you get started, you’ll be on a roll!  Plus you’ll save money too by dumping it all at the same time.

3.  Plan ahead for difficult trash removal.  Certain items need to be taken on specific days because they must be disposed of properly.  For example, chemicals and electronics would not go out with your regular trash, so plan ahead if you have any of these sorts of items to get rid of.  By planning ahead, you avoid making excuses for yourself.  Just get it done!

4.  Rent a bin or borrow a pickup.  One of the biggest barriers to trash removal is simply not having room to get rid of it all at once.  The best thing you can do is rent a bin because then all you’ve got to do is toss it right out the door.  If you prefer not to have a bin on your property, then you may need to rent a pickup or another means of hauling away your trash. Renting a bin will save time, effort and is less expensive than you may think.

  1. I agree that planning a weekend to get all of this done is best. I have tried to take care of my junk little by little before and it just doesn’t work out. For this type of thing, you just need to dive in and keep going until the job is completely done. It’s a great idea to rent a dumpster, I think this would really get the ball rolling and make you more motivated to get it done.
